1. Financially. God added partners to our team and we moved from 40% to 70% supported.
  2. Training. Hugh took two advanced courses in linguistics in the Spring, enriching his qualifications to help the Americas Area develop their strategy for resource availability.
  3. Staff at SIL-UND. Our ministry involves equipping Bible translators with knowledge and skills. We both served on staff during the summer at SIL’s linguistics training program. Becky was the course head for Linguistic Field Methods; Hugh was a Teaching Assistant for the Tone Analysis course.
  4. Linguistics Publications and Conferences. Hugh has been working with SIL’s Linguistics Department on a description of a rare speech sound encountered by Bible translators in the Philippines. This description is now being published. Hugh successfully presented this description at a linguistics conference in France this summer.
  5. Communications with Partners. In the Fall we launched a new website as part of our partnership development and communication strategy. http://www.pro.thejourneyler.org
  6. Speaking tour in Florida. In late Fall we shared the needs of Bible translation at 25 banquets throughout Florida in cooperation with Wycliffe Associates.
